“POCTEFA 2014-2020 is a European territorial cooperation program created to promote the sustainable development of the border territory between the three countries. The POCTEFA 2014-2020 is a community financial support aimed at strengthening the economic and social integration of this area. POCTEFA co-finances cross-border cooperation projects designed and managed by actors from both sides of the Pyrenees and the coastal areas that participate in the Program, preserving the smart, sustainable and inclusive development of the territory.”

There are many projects at the cross-border level which have POCTEFA funding, and which involve part of our community.
Within POCTEFA there are 5 axes according to which priorities are established and projects are classified. Ocean i³ is located on the 5th axis that contains projects with the following characteristics:
“Axis 5, Strengthening skills and inclusion in the territories, has two investment priorities (PI), 8e and 9a:
– The priority 8e focuses on promoting internal potential, the development of training systems and the skills of people in the cross-border territory to improve access to employment.
– Priority 9 has as a work area to improve access to services, both social, health or cultural”
This financing is an opportunity for Ocean i3 since being part of this program offers us visibility towards the other programmed projects and before the collaborating institutions. On the other hand, the program promotes “capitalization” between projects and initiatives based on synergies that allow expanding the scope of action and impact of the project. From Ocean i3 we will do everything possible to expand and contribute our work and experience to other projects.
